Facilities

Australian Horsemanship is situated on the picturesque Risebridge Farm, Goudhurst , Kent .

The original stable block holds eight traditional stables, secure tack rooms, a hay store, toilets and showers and is situated next to our office and car and lorry park.

In 2009, we completed the building of an additional stable block, affectionately known as ‘the Aussie Barn'! This houses a heated restroom with seating and kitchen facilities, a heated rug room, an undercover washdown/ farrier area with heated water, an undercover Claydon Horsewalker and stabling for up to 16 horses . These ‘pens' are made from local hop poles on a chalk and sand base. They are of varying sizes and operate on an automatic water system. The largest pen also houses a ‘tie-pole' where Jason teaches horses to tie-up. We have found the horses are extraordinarily relaxed in this environment.

Much of our training takes place in our Claydon Round Pen , with rubber kickboards, and our sand and rubber 50m x 30m arena . We are also fortunate to have two flat polocrosse pitches that also double as a wonderful training area for our young horses, dressage and showjumping.

With over 100 acres , we can offer year round turnout to all our horses, with the majority of fencing being post and rail. With the largest paddocks being ten acres in size down to small ‘one horse' paddocks, your horse can be kept how you want. We even have dedicated stallion paddocks with high fencing.

With this land also comes fantastic hacking , with some truly breathtaking views from Balcombe Hill. The steeper hills also act as fantastic natural grass gallops and we have put in hunting gates to make it easier to pass from field to field. The Romney Marsh Pony Club used to run events at Risebridge Farm, and we still have some cross country jumps in use, including ditches, steps and water – wonderful for training purposes!
