Behavioural Problems

'It was like leaving one horse with loads of problems and picking up a totally different horse, a joy to own!'
Mandy Farley

Do you have a problem that needs solving? Jason's ability to turn the most dangerous or unhandled horses around is remarkable and he regularly receives referrals from vets, farriers, professional riders and instructors for behavioural problems including;

•  Bucking

•  Rearing

•  Bolting

•  Refusals (jumping, water, ditches etc)

•  Napping

•  Spooking

•  Traffic shy

•  Mounting

•  Catching

•  Leading

•  Loading

•  Foot handling

•  Tying up

•  Biting, kicking, aggressive behaviour

•  Foal handling and weaning

Jason has had success with just about every behavioural issue under the sun and has given horses that have been recommended by vets to be put down a second chance!

The most common problems that he comes across are loading and shoeing, and rearing, napping and bolting when being ridden. However, Jason firmly believes that re-education does not stop with the horse, but is equally important for the rider!

Some horses stay for a week's ‘fine tuning', whilst others have been put through a prolonged retraining programme. However, we believe in ‘honesty is the best policy' and if we don't feel that horse and rider are suited, or if the horse is going to be too dangerous, we will advise accordingly.

Retraining/ Schooling

You're horse may not have a specific problem, but it could be that he could benefit from some general schooling. Or, perhaps you want your horse retrained for a different discipline? We have schooled and retrained all types of horses and ponies with great success, including horses that we have owned and sold on to happy new owners!
