In 2002, we imported two Australian Stock Horse mares, Condamine Rivoli Design and Rosebrook Sacha and some frozen semen from two stallions, Holmewood Tim Astra and Haydon Dancer. Design arrived in the UK in foal to Rosebrook Falute and the resulting son, Risebridge Diesel, was kept entire until 2011 and remains the only Australian Stock Horse stallion to have stood in the UK. Although he has now been gelded in order to be competed and used as Jason’s demonstration horse, he produced some lovely progeny that are successfully competing.
We acknowledge that breeding horses takes time, blood, sweat and tears – not to mention money! However, although we are breeding for the joy of it rather than as a commercial enterprise, our focus remains the same; to breed quality horses for polocrosse and polo that would also excel in other equestrian disciplines. We continue to have a small number of homebred horses for sale each year that can be purchased as weanlings, yearlings or broken in.

Diesel is such a stunning horse, with temperament and ability to match. We used him as a sire for four years and although he was producing lovely progeny, we wanted to introduce different bloodlines into our breeding programme. Diesel remains with us as a competition horse and for Jason to use in demonstrations and regularly steals the show! We have retained two fillies by him for future breeding purposes.
