Risebridge Diesel, our Australian Stock Horse stallion, believed to be the first pure-bred Australian Stock Horse to be born in the UK

Risebridge Australian Stock Horse Stud
History

Formed in 2002 when Jason and Penny imported two ASH mares and frozen semen from two ASH stallions ( Haydon Dancer and Holmwood Tim Astra ) the idea was to initially breed horses for the polocrosse and polo markets using their own top performing mares such as Little Miss Muffet t (5 times UKPA Nationals Champion Polocrosse Pony) and Jazzy Lee (NZ bred Medium Goal polo pony).

The two pure bred mares, Condamine Rivoli Design and Rosebrook Sacha have since been sold and have gone on to award winning careers with their new owners (Charlotte Pykett and Will Halcrow). However, Design was imported in foal to a stunning stallion, Rosebrook Falute , and she produced Risebridge Diesel , who now stands as the only ASH stallion in the UK here at Risebridge Farm.

With the acknowledgment that breeding horses takes time, blood, sweat and tears (not to mention money!), the breeding focus for Risebridge ASH Stud remains the same; to breed quality horses for polocrosse, polo and other disciplines from dressage to endurance, show jumping to showing, and eventing to western. We hope to have a small number of homebred horses for sale each year.

We are currently in talks with the Australian Stock Horse Society with the aim to set up a European branch of the Studbook and over the next couple of years, we want to increase the promotion of the Australian Stock Horse in this part of the world!

What happens to your mare at stud?

Before arriving, you will have to fill out our Broodmare Form (supplied on request), and have your mare checked for reproductive soundness by a vet and tested for diseases that can be transmitted through breeding.

Your mare will then be kept according to your wishes (in work, stabled, turned out etc) by highly qualified and caring staff.

During her season, you mare will be hand served with every possible precaution taken to ensure that both mare and stallion remain injury free.

You can then either take your mare home or wait 14 days to be scanned by our vet.
