Steve spent the first part of his career educating horses; starting horses under saddle, working with problem horses and educating advanced horses in all disciplines from dressage and eventing to western and polo. The second half of his career has been dedicated to teaching people to advance their horses by educating and improving themselves. As a result he conducts over 60 two day clinics a year throughout Australia and New Zealand. For the past thirty years he has also given displays with his highly educated horses at top international equestrian events, showing incredible feats of horsemanship such as bridleless piaffe! On his first working visit to the UK, this really is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the best in the business!

“I was enlightened when I found Steve Brady, he has completely changed my horses and my training” Anne Battley, Riding Coach and State Dressage Representative
Steve teaches horsemanship that is universally correct in its principles and can be adopted to any sport and discipline. He teaches techniques both on the ground and under saddle that are fundamental to producing a well trained horse suitable for recreational riding that is understanding and obedient to many cues and ready to train on to any equestrian sport or discipline
You will learn a number of close contact (standing next to your horse) exercises (ie turn on the forehand, turn on the hindquarters, sideways plus many more) to improve respect, understanding and obedience to yielding to pressure on the ground.
As your horse becomes more understanding and obedient through the bit to forwards, backwards and sideways cues on the ground, it will make it easier to educate your horse to be understanding and obedient to the same cues under saddle.
These close contact cues also prepare your horse for
*Lunge line work (or improving quality of the lunge line work)
*Leading at the shoulder for success in the show ring
*two rein in hand advanced dressage training on the ground ie shoulder in, half pass, piaffe and passage on the ground.

You will learn a program of exercises that will teach your horse to become understanding and obedient to your leg and rein aids, and gives you confident control of the;
*Head and neck
*Shoulders
*Ribcage
*Hindquarters
You will earn to lighten your horse to your legs by using pre cues, cues and motivators in the correct sequence, rather than just ‘kicking harder’!
You will also learn why turn on the forehand, turn on the hindquarters, side steps and lateral and vertical control of the head and neck are vital to having a well trained horse.
Steve’s ridden exercises will make it easier for Dressage and Jumping enthusiasts to start to train leg yielding, shoulder in, half passes, pirouettes and flying changes. They will make it easier for western, polo and polocrosse competitors to train for roll backs, haunch turns, spins, quick stops and flying changes.
Jason Webb has demonstrated his techniques with starting young horses under saddle and working with ‘problem’ horses at top equine events such as Your Horse Live. Steve has performed for the past thirty years with his teams of highly trained horses at international events such as Equitana.
The three scheduled demonstrations will be both highly informative and entertaining and will appeal to both recreational and competition riders (and even non-riders!). They will include starting an unbroken horse under saddle, working with a horse with a behavioural problem and advancing an established horse. The evening will finish with a ridden and at liberty display with some of Jason’s own horses, including the ever popular Risebridge Diesel.
If you would like to put your horse forward for one of the demonstrations, please contact us directly.
